Our Story

Mark Engel Has Been Turning Wrenches Since 1986

An owner-led shop in Hampton, Georgia, built on decades of hands-on work.

Mark Engel entered the automotive trade in 1986. After technical school [confirm school name], he spent years learning the craft the only way it can really be learned: one car at a time, with his hands, under the guidance of people who had been doing it even longer.

In [founding year, confirm] he opened Atlanta Auto Restoration in Hampton, Georgia, with a clear focus. Not every car and not every style, but original type restorations of cars built from the Brass Era through the Muscle Car Era. That focus has kept the shop busy for more than two decades.

Today Mark still runs the shop and still works on the cars. When you bring your car here, you are not handed off to someone you will never see again. You are talking to the man whose name is on the work, and who will probably want to tell you a story about the last one he saw like it.

Meet the Crew

Over a Century of Combined Experience

Mark is not doing this alone. Our team brings more than a hundred years of combined restoration experience across bodywork, paint, mechanical and assembly. Between them, they have seen just about every kind of rust, wiring shortcut and creative repair a previous owner can dream up.
