1900 to 1975 · Original Type Restorations

Some cars need everything. Others need one thing done right. We handle full frame-off restorations and individual service work on antique, classic and muscle cars, all under one roof in Hampton, Georgia. Every job follows the same rule: keep it original wherever it counts, and only modernize where it makes the car safer or easier to enjoy.

Disassembly & Assembly

Taking a car apart is easy. Taking it apart so it can go back together correctly is the real skill. Every part is photographed, bagged, tagged and cataloged as it comes off, so nothing is lost and nothing is guessed at later. Assembly is where a restoration comes together, and it is also the most time-consuming stage on both original and modified builds. We take that time, because a rattle you can hear at 40 mph is a detail somebody rushed.

Sheetmetal & Body Work

Rust and time are the two biggest enemies of any classic car, and in the Georgia humidity they work together. We repair and replace floors, quarter panels, fenders, trunk pans and rockers, using patch panels where good original metal can be saved and full replacement panels where it cannot. Panels are fitted, welded and aligned so the gaps are right before a single coat of primer goes on.

Paint & Refinishing

We offer original lacquer for owners who want a period-correct finish, and basecoat/clearcoat or urethane topcoats for a finish built to handle sun, rain and regular driving. Color is matched to the original factory code, or to something new if you have always wanted a different shade. Behind every finish is careful bodywork, block sanding and priming, because paint shows every shortcut taken underneath it.

Chassis & Frame Work

Everything on a car sits on the frame, so that is where a proper restoration starts. We inspect for cracks, rust and old accident damage, then repair, straighten and refinish the frame and chassis so the rest of the build has a solid foundation. On body-on-frame cars, this is the heart of a frame-off restoration, and it is the part of the job you never see but always feel on the road.

Suspension & Brakes

We rebuild suspension systems with correct components, so your car rides and handles the way it was designed to. Brakes are where we most often recommend a minor modification: many owners choose a disc brake upgrade, because original drum brakes were designed for a world with far fewer cars and far more patience. Whether you want factory-correct or upgraded, we will explain the options and let you decide.

Mechanical Restoration

A car that looks perfect but will not start is just a very nice sculpture. We restore engines, transmissions, cooling, fuel systems and drivetrains so the car runs as well as it shines. Original type means numbers-matching components are kept and rebuilt wherever possible, which matters a great deal for value and history on collectible muscle cars.

Electrical

Old wiring is where gremlins live. Cracked insulation, corroded connectors and decades of well-meant repairs by previous owners can turn a simple headlight problem into a weekend of frustration. We troubleshoot electrical issues, repair or replace wiring harnesses and restore gauges, lighting and switches, so everything works when you turn the key and keeps working after you drive away.

Glass & Interior

The interior is the part of the car you actually live with. We restore seats, door panels, headliners, carpet, dash and trim, and replace glass and weatherstripping so the cabin looks right, seals right and smells more like a car and less like a barn. Materials and patterns are matched to the original wherever possible.

Our Approach

Original Where It Counts, Upgraded Where It Helps

Our specialty is original type restoration: correct finishes, correct hardware and correct details. We also know most owners want to drive their cars, not just park them, so we are happy to add a few sensible modifications that do not change the character of the car.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Still wondering about something? Call us at 770-946-8949.

1. How long does a restoration take?

It depends on the car, its condition and the scope of work. A single service is usually much quicker, while a full restoration is measured in months, not weeks. Parts for a 60-year-old car do not always arrive on our schedule, so we give you an honest timeline up front and keep you updated along the way.

Yes. Large projects can be billed monthly, so the work progresses steadily without a single large payment. We explain how it works once we understand what your car needs.

Our specialty is 1900 to 1975, but give us a call about your car and we will tell you straight whether we are the right shop for it.

Absolutely. Plenty of owners come to us for paint, brakes, wiring or interior work only. Every car gets the same care, whether it is here for one service or all eight.
